Stephen King, ND, DHANP
I have practiced naturopathic medicine, specializing in homeopathy, for more than 30 years. I still love my work. I also continue to learn---about the art and craft of medicine, about listening, about the uniqueness of each human being. For me, each new patient is a wonderful opportunity to be of use, to help someone substantially improve his/her health and life.
Homeopathy offers a focused treatment system that goes beyond the specific complaint or diagnosis and takes into account the health of the whole person---mental, emotional, and physical. The homeopathic medicines, derived from natural substances, act as deep, holistic and effective catalysts to the body’s own healing mechanisms. Homeopathy allows me to truly individualize care and treatment for each patient.
For more than 20 years I have been studying the homeopathic system known as the Sensation Method with its creator, Dr. Rajan Sankaran, as well as with a number of his colleagues from Mumbai, India. These studies have helped me to continue refining my homeopathic skills.
I also make use of diet, exercise, nutritional supplements, botanical medicines, lifestyle modification, and other naturopathic methods, when they are indicated.
Other things I love---music, singing, gardens, my wife, Sheryl, and my two children, Hanna and Daniel.
Some biographical information---My undergraduate degree was from Harvard College. I am a licensed naturopathic physician and a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. After completing postgraduate training in homeopathy through the International Foundation for Homeopathy (IFH), I taught homeopathy to physicians for several years in the IFH Professional Course and also served as president of the board of the IFH. Board certified in homeopathy through the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians, I began my practice in 1982.
